Wheee!! Today is the day before our flight to Bangkok! God, I am so EXCITED!! When I woke up this morning, butterflies were flying around in my stomach. I still have one whole day here at the office and of course, everyone is excited like me. Our company outing to Bangkok is finally HERE!! Tomorrow I can finally buy those JE mags that I have been dreaming about since last November 2007.
As usual, when you anticipate something, the day goes by S-L-O-W-L-Y and I still have my last review class this evening. I hope I have everything in my bag already or I won't have time to rest tonight.
Hope to see you all when I get back from Bangkok (loaded with ARASHI goodies that I can find and hope that my money will last)!!

I was over at the PRC office here in Cebu City to file for my LET exam last Monday. You'd think that since the July 31 deadline was given last June there would be no more lines. Haha! Reality hit me square in the face. I arrived before 8am and lo, the line was almost reaching the gate. Good thing I was wearing flat shoes but really, almost 3 hours standing in line was not what I had in mind. It took me the whole morning to finally file my application and for all that time I was either standing in line with other people, jostling with them, or running up and down to have my application signed. Really!! Why can't they have all the offices on one floor so that we don't have to run up and down just for one signature? It's like having your clearance signed in school, you have to find different people to have the application signed.
And the most frustrating part of it all was that how come people are still queueing up to file? I mean they were given almost two months advance notice. I had a valid excuse since my TOR just arrived Thursday of the previous week and Monday was the only day I can file for leave from the office. But how about the others? I mean some were not even working. Come on people!! Filipinos really like to procastinate. I guess it's part of our culture. It's so frustrating. But anyway, I finally had my application filed and I also had sore feet after all that. I rewarded myself with lunch at Jollibee ~
I shudder to think of the lines tomorrow, July 31, the last day for filing of applications.

Here's what I got...

You are The High Priestess
Science, Wisdom, Knowledge, Education.
The High Priestess is the card of knowledge, instinctual, supernatural, secret knowledge. She holds scrolls of arcane information that she might, or might not reveal to you. The moon crown on her head as well as the crescent by her foot indicates her willingness to illuminate what you otherwise might not see, reveal the secrets you need to know. The High Priestess is also associated with the moon however and can also indicate change or fluxuation, particularily when it comes to your moods.
What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

To summarize what happened to me in the 2 months that I haven't posted:
1. I finally had my US visa renewed!! Yes!! California, here I come (again!)
2. I passed all my subjects in my PTC course. Which means I now have to take the Teacher's Exam to have my license as a teacher.
3. I am now taking review classes in preparation for the coming exam this September.
4. Because of this, I officially have no social life for the next two months.
5. Our office will be going to Bangkok for our incentive trip this August and yes, that means JE MAGAZINES, here I come!!!
6. I have taken an interest in the Korean band Super Junior. I love watching their EHB shows, they're all so silly.
7. I have finally finished reading His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman. The Golden Compass was great, The Subtle Knife kind of bored me, and The Amber Spyglass had me disappointed.
8. Did I miss anything?

Oh, and I LOVE ARASHI in SCP last night!! I totally clapped after their performance, it was that ...(insert words of praise on ARASHI here)!!!

Hi all. Seeing as I really wanted a cute anime theme for my phone, a Sony Ericsson W580i, I labored two hours to make this. I'm sharing it with you since I'm very generous with my themes. Don't worry, I'll still be doing more, even some JE themes when I can find good pictures. Of course, please credit me if you want to share the link. Enjoy.

When will the torture end? I can't even enjoy my Arashi DVD, which I just received last Sunday (thanks to Papa Verg for it, an early birthday gift)! What am I ranting about? My low-paying job!! I really hate summer season. I know it's the time to go on vacation but let me ask you, who do people torture during vacations? The travel agents ~ I soooo hate this particular season. My back is never going to recover after this. For the last two weeks I have been coming home late from the office. I can't wait for Holy Week to come by, at least that time guarantees me several free-from-work days. That way, I can keep up with my anime and jdrama list, which has been piling up since last February.
Oooh, can I rant about my DVD? It's my first DVD con from a Jpop artist. I was really excited when my friend gave it to me... I resisted the urge to say goodbye, dash home and watch the entire DVD. It took me two days to watch it because I was too tired from work on Sunday. All I can say is that ARASHI is soooo KAKKOI (have I spelled it right? need to brush up on Japanese expressions)!!! Jun looks better with Bambino hair than Domyouji hair, by the way. And I never knew Riidaa could sing like that. Don't get me started on Sho. Suffice it to say that I slept that night with a smile on my face.
Better stop here, this was supposed to be a small rant to let off some steam from work. I might end up doing major flailing. And note to self, stop posting rants and post relevant ones next time.
*Look Ma, a fairy!! I wish Arashi were here and sing me to sleep... hey, I can always dream, right?

Two weeks since I last posted here. And a LOT of stuff happened, I don't even know where to start. Let's see...
I finally finished my final exams just this morning (thank God!) after a week of crazy studying and cramming (typical me) and doing those assignments at the same time (I'm lucky to have had help).
I finally finished reading Book Two of the Chronicles of Narnia series, The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. Believe me, I didn't even know how I did it in between those crazy study schedules and crazy office work but I am now finished with it. Really, the book should have been entitled The Lion, The Children, and The Wardrobe because although The Witch plays a big role, the children play even a bigger role in the book. Well, I might say spoilers in this post for those who did not read the book so I'll just have to make another post on the books in the Narnia series to avoid saying anything.
It has been a crazy two weeks of office work! A lot of people want to travel and frankly, it is surprising because people seem to say that they can't afford anything. Really? Maybe they're being too modest when they call our office and ask for packages to Boracay or wherever. On top of all that craziness, we are also preparing for the VTTF fair this coming March 7-9, which would mean another round of crazy work for me. Ooooh, I can't wait! (Notice all the sarcasm I seem to be dishing out?)
I also finished watching Card Captor Sakura, all 70 episodes of it. I really don't know how I managed to do all these crazy things and believe me, I'm still scratching my head over it. I'm even now starting to watch Tsubasa Chronices (I seem to be in Clamp mode right now) and to think I still have a lot to do for the VTTF fair.
On top of all that, I even managed to find time to go out with my best friend and eat! Yup, I have been a-hankerin' to eat some Baked Zitti from Sbarro. Don't even ask why, I feel like a pregnant lady, wanting to eat specific food and stuff.
Ooooh, I can't wait for my friend to come back from Japan. He bought me AAA in Dome DVD of Arashi. And I really thought he was joking when his wife said he bought it for me. He'll be arriving tomorrow but I won't get to see him til next week because of my crazy and very hectic work schedule ahead. That's alright, I can still wait for the DVD (no, really I can... notice the crazy look that comes over my face whenever I hear the word DVD... mwahahahahaha.... really I just love dishing sarcasm lately, must be the weather)
I can't wait for vacation to come ~

Update on my Narnia readings ~ I have finished book 1 and it's a very good start to the 7-book series. I read til like 2am in the morning of Sunday. good thing I drank coffee with my friends earlier after having dinner with them. The pivotal characters in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (or Book 2) are introduced here and yes, they are Aslan, the White Witch, and of course, the most important of all, the wardrobe. I think those who want to follow the Narnia movies should read the books first to have sufficient backgrounds on the movies. I mean I watched the Golden Compass movie before reading the book (and up to now, I can't still find Book 1 of the Dark Materials Trilogy) and I found it a little confusing at first. Of course, it does not always follow that the books are better than the movies but I would rather read first before watching a movie based on books. I learned my lesson with the movie, Queen of the Damned, the one starring Aaliyah and Stuart Townsend. I loved the book it was based on. In fact, it was my favorite book from Anne Rice. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the movie. It totally bombed!! Only the soundtrack was worth mentioning. Don't get me started with this but suffice it to say that I definitely loved the book better than the movie.
Okay, I have to get back to Arashi's PV so that I can flail again. ~ Ja ne minna!!

Tuesday night and I'm supposed to be reading another homework assignment due next week. And what do I end up doing? Reading Nancy Drew, this time it's The Quest for the Missing Map. I really like reading Nancy Drew books. Even if I've outgrown the genre, I still love reading them. I think I finished the original 53(?) hardbound books in elementary school. I'm taking a break from reading Book 1 of the Narnia series. I've already progressed to Chapter 6 and things are really getting interesting.
Has anyone noticed that good shows on cable are really hard to come by lately? I'm online now because there isn't a single interesting show on cable. I miss those reality shows like Project Runway and America's Next Top Model. Too bad those shows are broadcasted late in our part of the world. They'll be shown 8 months or something after it's been shown in the US. Of course by that time you can already read online who won so it kind of sucks that shows run late around here. No good shows on local TV too. I don't like watching those dubbed Koreanovelas or Japanese dramas. The dubbing isn't good and the voices never really match the performer being dubbed. Even the locally produced shows don't appeal to me. The plot is shallow and they usually drag on the drama for days at a time.
Okay, time to get cracking on that homework. Now if I can only get my brain to work, maybe I can finish it early.

My friend also let me borrow her Chronicles of Narnia books, all seven of them. I can now start reading them since I have some free time. I can't wait to get started. And I love her books, they're all glossy with colored illustrations. God, I sound like a child but hey, reading is my outlet to relieve stress, aside from eating of course.
Also, if you're wondering why my icons keep repeating itself, I have yet to install a graphics program in our pc at home. One of my friends borrowed it and has yet to give it back. Now I have to start thinking of a layout for the site.
Oooh, another Amazing Race Asia will be shown tonight. I really hope the Thai girls will not get eliminated. I like their kind of teamwork. Plus, they're really optimistic. Although I support our very own Marc and Rovilson team, the Thai team comes in second on my list. We'll have to wait til tonight for the episode to be shown.

Watch out for some heavy complaining coming your way ~ don't say I didn't warn you...
Seriously, why is it that when I am given reading homework, I wait til the very last minute to do it but when I'm bored and read novels, I can finish Nancy Drew in three hours? This particular MO has been operating since high school and I still haven't changed since then. Is this normal? I am sooo tired of this particular subject, all I seem to do is read. Okay, my subject's on the Psychology of Reading so I have to read but come on, I have to read two chapters in one week and that's in between work and my social life (not that I have any to brag about).
Well anyway, who am I to complain. I did sign up for this course. But I didn't expect to get this kind of homework for the semester. I still haven't even passed my second one and the third one is due this Thursday.
I just hope I'll hold out til our finals in March. Other than that, it's back to the books.

So anyway, my first post. I've been thinking on what to put in but even as I'm typing this nothing is coming into my mind. Maybe that's because I'm hungry, haven't eaten lunch yet.
I'm ending this now so I can eat. I am soooo hungry, my fingers have stopped typing.
